Zen

Zen was carried to Japan with Eisai from China at the beginning of 12th century.Soto sect, Rinzai sect, and the Obaku sect are the Zen sects of Japan.Gautama Buddha taught that sitting in religious contemplation was the method of unifying soul, severing worldly desires and going into Nirvana.Meditation of Zen is the self-training method performed in temples of Zen sect.Tea ceremonies, Noh plays and styles of samurai residences in Japanese were influenced of zen.And in order to understand Japanese culture, learning about zen is very important for visitors.To this site, some Zen temples and Zen Buddhist seminaries are introduced.An English site does not exist in Kennin-ji in Kamakura, and Kencho-ji that are famous Zen temples, and many foreigners are practicing Zen meditati in there.Site information related to this theme.
