Museums and art museums etc.
Museums and art museums, various data
halls, aquariums, National Theaters, etc. are divided into establishments
of Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology,
of other ministries and agencies, of local governments, and private
institutions which various organizations, companies, and individuals
established. A variety of works of art and goods with which represents
Japan are exhibited by the national institutions in Tokyo, Kyoto,
Nara, and many overseas masterpieces are also exhibited by the National
Museum of Western Arts. Institutions which local government established
are mostly exhibiting works of artists representing that district
besides masterpieces of foreigner artists.
Exhibitions of private institutions
are mostly limited to some fields and some artists however exhibitions
also show great works that are not inferior the works of National
institutions or local governments' institutions.
In this site, such as museums
and art museums, the expectation of visitors can be met enough there
because many English Home pages exist.

the circle shapes appeared in his works changing their form
and meaning. Inokuma had produced "space" works from
1980 to 1987. A lot of circles on this period seem to be painted
very strong. Inokuma told that he painted these circles as "the
sun", "the moon", "the earth" and the
other stars in the space. |

Until the late-19th century, Japanese
architecture concentrated exclusively on wooden construction,
producing remarkable variations in style and beauty in form. This
Museum has two main purpose: firstly, to collect and preserve
excellent tools from the past; secondly, researching and exhibiting
these special tools, to convey to future generations the spirit
and attitudes of traditional Japanese carpenters and blacksmiths.
By permanently undertaking these activities, the Museum will

The Theatre Museum, dedicated to the memory
of Dr.Tsubouchi Shoyo, is devoted entirely to the study of the
history of drama. Within its walls are to be found materials
relating not only to the theatre arts of Japan, but to those
of other countries, of East and West, as well. In Japan there
is an abundance of materials and literature related to the Japanese
dramatic arts, the history of which covers a period of more
than one thousand years; moreover, Japan possesses in Kabuki
dramatic forms unique in the history of the world theatre. It
would, therefore, not be at all strange if the Museum specialized
only in the Japanese theatre. However, Dr. Tsubouchi's conception
of a theatre museum was something far broader and more comprehensive.
He envisioned such a museum as a storehouse of literature, prints
and other objects related to drama and theatre arts gathered
from all parts of the world. |
