Japan is a volcanic country it has
a lot of hot springs everywhere. There are few prefectures without
a hot spring. And famous hot springs are located in each district,
especially Hakone hot spring area and Unzen Hot Spring area are
loved by foreigners from Meiji era.At hot springs in Europe, when
visitors take a bath, and they have a swimsuit on, people mainly
use a hot spring for medical treatment, but Japanese people are
naked to take a bath and use hot-springs for curing and rest.Hot
springs in Atami and in Izu Peninsula are also tourist resorts.Locations
of hot springs in Hokkaido district mostly have grand scenes on
their backgrounds.Hot springs in northeastern district are mostly
located in country field.Hot springs in Kanto district are received
for visitors from big cities.Hot springs in Kansai district such
as Arima and Shirahama were famous since ancient times. There are
famous Mimasaka three hot springs in Chugoku district.Dogo hot springs
are representing Shikoku district.Famous hot springs, such as Beppu,
Unzen, Yufuin and Kirisima, are located in Kyushu district. There
are so many hot springs in Japan. However, English sites of hot springs
which Japan plaza found are only Jozanke of Hokkaido, Hakone area,
Dogo and in Beppu. When Japanese people calmly soak themselves in
big bathtubs of hot springs, they feel comfort and relaxation. We
hope that visitors realize Japanese people's feelings on hot springs. We
expect that organizations of each hot-spring will make more English
sites and are doing their best in advertisements to foreigners.
